Technology today plays an astronomical role on not just the classroom but also the world we live in. The teacher of today must have a good comprehension on how to use technology in the classroom to make it an optimal learning environment. If we do not embrace technology as a way of teaching then we are hurting our students. Technology makes learning easier as well as much more exciting. The teachers of the future must embrace technology for it has and will continue to affect our everyday lives.

Research as a Teacher

While in a couple of years I will be teaching, I still will not know everything about a certain subject. It is my responsibility to continue to learn as well as do research on topics that I do not fully know about. As a teacher I must never stop learning. I feel as if so many teachers today forget this. I will never know everything but I can do my best to make sure I know enough to successfully teach my students.

Class Discussion

Full class discussion is important in the classroom. So often have I taken classes where the only person speaking the full time period is the teacher. In my opinion this style of teaching does nothing but bore the students and lessens their ability to learn. When you get the students involved in the lecture the most learning is taking place. Your goal should be to captivate the student in whatever it is that is being taught. If you accomplish that then you have ensured maximum learning for your students.

Discipline

I believe discipline plays a very large role in the success of education. In the classroom as well as on the sports field without discipline it is almost impossible to build upon anything. In my future classroom I will instill discipline in my students. Not so much that my students despise me, but enough so that the classroom is a quality learning environment.

Why I Want To Be A Teacher

Throughout my life I have been most affected by those who I have learned from. Most of these people have been the teachers and coaches I have been lucky enough to meet. These people are why I want to be a teacher. I want to be able to positively affect someone's life. I believe by being a teacher and shaping young minds I can have such an affect.
